Lions fall to Ticats

B.C. 28 – Hamilton 31

The Skinny: It was another entertaining CFL game that came down to the wire. Hamilton QB Quinton Porter led the charge throwing for 222 yards and one touchdown as the Ticats snuck out of B.C. Place with their first victory here in five years. It was bad news all around for the Lions as they also lost kicker Paul McCallum to knee and wrist injuries in the third quarter.

The Difference:
Lions QB Buck Pierce threw two very costly interceptions. The first in the third quarter to Geoff Tisdale, who in turn ran for a 43-yard touchdown that turned the momentum into Hamilton’s favour. The second was in the final minute diminishing any chance of a Lions comeback.

The Rating: Average. The Lions played a decent game, but made crucial mistakes that led to another heartbreaking loss.

The Next Game: The Lions travel to Edmonton to face the Eskimos on Thursday.
