Lions trade Joyce to Crushers

The Halifax Lions have traded recently-acquired forward Dan Joyce to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers for forward Stuart Lenehan and future considerations.

Lions head coach and general manager Troy Ryan acquired the 20-year-old Joyce at last weekend’s draft, touting him as one of the top three players in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. But Ryan said Lenehan, a Dartmouth native, has the potential to be “top 10 scorer for the next two seasons”

“He brings a great deal of speed and energy to our lineup,” Ryan said. “He is a player of great character.”

Lenehan, a former Cole Harbour McCain forward, had 30 points in 36 games for the Crushers last season and added seven points in 24 games for the P.E.I. Rocket of the QMJHL.
