The chance to co-host with Regis Philbin for one day could be a reality for 96.3 Capital FM’s Kari Skelton.
The only contestant to represent Edmonton and one of eight Canadians, Skelton found out she was a semi-finalist for the Women of Radio Co-Host for a Day contest two weeks ago.
“I was sitting in my office and it kind of caught me off guard,” she said. “I’m really excited as there are many talented women in the city.”
If Skelton is picked to be one of the four nominees to fly to New York, her goal is to bring a bit of home to the Big Apple.
“The 20-minute chat at the beginning of the show with Regis will give me a chance to talk about Edmonton and bring the Edmonton Flair.”
Of the 100 semi-finalists, 10 will be narrowed down and the names will be announced on Aug. 9 on the Live with Regis and Kelly show. From Aug. 9-11, people can go online to vote for the final nominees to co-host.
