One of Vancouver’s most upbeat broadcasters may be on his way to the Big Apple to co-host alongside Kelly Ripa on the daytime TV show Live!
Jonny Staub, an out-and-proud radio personality at The Beat 94.5 has made the “short” list of 100 North American broadcasters vying for the coveted spot.
Staub, who was nominated by friends, learned of his contendership via text message early yesterday morning.
His first thought being: “This is so cool!”
“I just felt overwhelmed and gracious,” he added.
Staub’s friend, Tommy (D) Dololanjski, has been one of his biggest supporters.
He’s already started a Facebook page, begun tweeting it out and wants to create Team Jonny T-shirts.
“He’s so personable, he doesn’t take himself too seriously, he’s the best friend that everyone deserves,” said Dololanjski.
“I just hope the whole country gets behind him … (because) we need the most votes to win.”
