News anchor Heather Unruh says Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted her son

Former Boston news anchor Heather Unruh said Wednesday that disgraced actor Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted her teenage son in 2016 at a Nantucket restaurant.

Unruh, who formerly worked at WCVB news station, made the claims at a downtown Boston hotel alongside attorney Mitchell Garabedian, who is known for his representation of victims of the Catholic church sex abuse scandal.

Unruh cried as she described the incident, which she said happened when her son was just 18 years old.

“My son was a starstruck, straight, 18-year-old young man who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator, or that he was about to become his next victim,” Unruh told media.

Spacey, she said, bought “drink after drink after drink” for her son, getting him drunk. After that, Spacy allegedly put his hand down her son’s pants and grabbed his genitals.

After that, the “House of Cards” actor invited her son to a private party before getting up to use the restroom, she said. That’s when the young man fled the restaurant, at the urging of a concerned onlooker.

“This was a criminal act,” Unruh said Wednesday, adding that her son has filed a police report with Nantucket police and has provided investigators with evidence of the assault.

Spacey has denied multiple claims of sexual assault in recent weeks. Watch Unruh’s full remarks below.
