Man shot, killed at Dorchester Holiday Inn Express

A man was fatally shot at a Dorchester Holiday Inn Express early Tuesday morning, according to Boston police.

The Boston Police Department responded to a call for a person shot at 69 Boston Street around 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

Once on scene, police saw the man, who they say was in his mid-20s, with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Boston Police Commissioner William Evans told reporters at the scene that it appears the victim was specifically was targeted.

“We’re trying to piece it together right now,” Evans told reporters. “It wasn’t random by any means.”

At least two people ran away from the Holiday Inn Express after the shooting, WBZ reported, and police are looking at surveillance video as part of the investigation.
