Photos: Mayor Marty Walsh, Red Sox bring 10 tons of supplies to Puerto Rico

Red Sox manager Alex Cora, a Puerto Rican native, spoke out about the need for relief.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Red Sox players departed Logan Airport on Tuesday to help bring 10 tons of supplies to Puerto Rico, which is still recovering from a devastating hurricane in September. 

Among those to head to the island is Red Sox manager Alex Cora is originally from Puerto Rico. Cora told media at a cargo area of Logan, "[If you] concentrate only on San Juan, the metropolitan area, the tourism, you know, where people go just to hang out and that looks great, but go to the mountains — go to where we're gonna be today. On a daily basis, they're in need."
