Police searching for gunmen after 2 women fatally shot in Bed-Stuy

Police are searching for at least two gunmen after two women were fatally shot in Bed-Stuy.

Two women were killed after at least two gunmen fired multiple shots outside a housing complex in Brooklyn on Wednesday night, police said.

Witnesses told NBC4 that Chynna Battle and Shaqwanda Staley were with a crowd of people, including several children, outside the Stuyvesant Garden Houses at 740 Gates Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 9:30 p.m. when two men came and opened fire.

Battle, 21, was shot in the head and later died at Woodhull Hospital, while 29-year-old Staley was struck in the back and died at Kings County Hospital, according to the police report.

No arrests have been made, and the NYPD is looking for at least two gunmen. Officials said it is unknown if Battle and Sealy were the suspects’ intended targets.
