6 train strikes person at Canal Street: Officials

A person was struck by a 6 train at Canal Street in Manhattan.

Subway service has resumed after a person was struck by a 6 train at Canal Street Friday morning, the MTA said.

The FDNY said it received a call that there was a “train incident’ at the Canal Street station at 11:17 a.m.

The MTA confirmed that an individual had been struck by a train, but the circumstances are not yet known.

Before service resumed around noon with “extensive delays,” the incident caused service changes to southbound 5 and 6 trains and delays on the 2, 4, 5 and 6 lines.

The FDNY told Metro that the person who was hit by the train has been taken to Bellevue Hospital, and their condition and identity is unknown.
