Brooklyn bus riders were jolted yesterday when they heard a gunshot during their commute, reports stated.
Around 2:45 p.m., the driver of a B25 bus stopped at the intersection of Fulton Street and Howard Avenue and aided a man in a wheelchair as he prepared to exit the bus, when a gun fell from the wheelchair and fired a bullet, the New York Daily News reported.
Reports said that, seemingly unbothered, the man simply retrieved his weapon from the floor and headed onto Fulton Street. An MTA worker told the Daily News that some passengers were frightened and ran from the scene. The bullet reportedly hit the ceiling of the bus, ricocheting off and falling to the ground directly to the side of the driver.
The armed man remains unnamed, but is described as being in his 30s. The Daily News was told that authorities collected the fragments of the bullet, which had shattered.
