Chris Christie confronts heckler, nachos in one hand
Gov. Christie got in the face of a heckler at a Cubs game yesterday when the man shouted at him, calling him a hypocrite.
A bowl of nachos is all that stood between an angry Gov. Chris Christie and a Cubs fan during a confrontation at a baseball game yesterday.
Christie went to see the Brewers face off against the Cubs in Milwaukee without realizing he’d have a face-off of his own with a heckler.
Brad Joseph said he noticed the governor walking up the stairs when he yelled Christie’s name, telling him he sucked. “I called him a hypocrite because I thought it needed to be said,” Joseph told WISN. “He turned around back toward me and got in my face for what seemed like a long time, but was probably only about 30 seconds or a minute.”
It was at that moment that Joseph says Christie yelled back at him, asking, “Why don’t you have another beer?” and called him a tough guy. A video tweeted that afternoon by a bystander showed the governor hunched over only inches from Joseph’s face, nachos in hand, when he can be heard saying to the fan, “You’re a big shot.”
It is unclear how the incident will impact Christie’s approval rating, which was evaluated at a mere 15 percent last month, an all-time low.
