NYPD seeks suspect in Hell’s Kitchen rape

A man is accused of raping a woman who approached him to ask for directions, and now the NYPD wants the public help finding him.

The sexual assault happened around 1 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

NYPD shared video footage of the suspect Wednesday with the hope that someone will be able to help them track him down.

“WANTED for Rape in the vicinity of West 51st Street between 8th Avenue & 9th Avenue #hellskitchen #manhattan @NYPDMTN On 10/06/19 @ 12:55AM Reward up to $2500 Seen him? Know who he is? NYPD reported that a 31-year-old woman from Yonkers got lost in Hell’s Kitchen and asked the suspect for directions.

That’s when the attacker allegedly grabbed her by the arm and brought her to a building on 51st Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. He allegedly forced her down the stairs into the basement where he carried out the assault. He then left in the direction of 52nd Street and Broadway, police said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. She reportedly suffered bruising to her right arm, her back, and her right leg.
