This week, the most expensive home in both New York City and in the U.S. was sold to the Citadel Founder, Ken Griffin.

Ken Griffin set a new record in the United States.

The Citadel founder bought a $238 million New York penthouse at 220 Central Park South.

A spokeswoman told The Washington Post that he wanted to have a place to stay when he was working in the city.

Well, let’s say that he got more than just a place to stay in.

His purchase of the 24,000-square-foot penthouse makes it the most expensive American home in history.

The expensive condo tower was built by Vornado Realty Trust and, according to them, the building provides stunning views of Central Park.

Along with buying one of the most expensive homes in New York City, Griffin has made other record-breaking real estate purchases.

Last month, he bought one of the most expensive residences in London for around $122 million. The property was the most expensive home to be sold in London for more than a decade.

He has also bought the most expensive home in Chicago for $58.75 million and an exclusive house in Miami for $60 million.

This penthouse at 23 East 22nd Street is in one of the tallest residential towers in downtown Manhattan.

The 7,600 square feet penthouse was put on the market by billionaire Rubert Murdoch and have 360-degree views of the city.

Known as the Crown Penthouse, this Madison Square behemoth is amazing.

The five-bedroom penthouse has around 10,000 square feet of living space and an additional 5,7000 square feet of outdoor terrace.

The 15,000 square-foot apartment was designed by William T. Georgis, one of the worlds best and most glamorous architect and designer.

According to The New York Post, a “notoriously secretive” Brazilian billionaire banking family bought the property.

Last but definitely not least, number one among the most expensive homes in New York City and is Griffin’s new home at 220 Central Park South.

Its massive 24,000 square feet penthouse that takes up four floors — from the 50th to the 53rd floor of the building.
