What to expect from the subway this weekend

It’s finally Friday — congrats on making it through another week! But along with the long-awaited end of the workweek comes the MTA’s weekend work.

Here’s some of what to expect from your subway system this weekend:

From 11:45 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, uptown 1 and 2 trains will run express from Times Square-42nd Street to 72nd Street for continuing rail and track replacements.

During that same timeframe, 2 and 3 service will be suspended in Brooklyn for Hurricane Sandy recovery work in the Clark Street Tunnel.

3 service will be replaced by the 4 train, which will run local to Crown Heights-Utica Avenue, and there will be free shuttle buses from there to New Lots Avenue.

5 trains, also running local, will extend to Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College to replace 2 service.

Since there will not be service at the Clark Street and Hoyt Street stations, straphangers can transfer to the N, Q or R at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.

In Manhattan, 2 trains will run from the Bronx to South Ferry, going local from Penn Station to South Ferry. 3 trains will operate between Harlem-148th Street and 14th Street.

Starting at 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, downtown 2 and 3 trains will run local from 96th Street to Times Square for track maintenance.

Flushing-Main Street-bound 7 trains will run express from Queensboro Plaza to Mets-Willets Point for track panel installation.

• A/C

A trains will run local in both directions between Euclid Avenue and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday due to electrical work.

Uptown A and C trains will run express between Canal and 59th Street-Columbus Circle from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for signal work.

• D/N

Manhattan-bound D and N trains will operate express between 59th Street/36th Street and Barclays Center in Brooklyn from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday due to work at Prospect Avenue.

• E/F

E and F trains will bypass Spring and 23rd streets for signal improvements and switch maintenance from 11:45 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.

Additionally, Jamaica Center/Jamaica-bound E and F trains will go local from Queens Plaza (E) and 21st Street-Queensbridge (F) to 71st Avenue for Queens Boulevard signal improvements.
