Part of leg found in Hudson River may belong to Jennifer Londono

Police retrieved a piece of a leg from the Hudson River yesterday afternoon. It was found by a jogger near West 79th Street and removed just after 2 p.m., the New York Post reported.

Just hours before, the corpse of a fully clothed man was also spotted in the water around 15th Street.

While the two findings are not related, the New York Daily News reported that law enforcement is probing the possibility that the piece of the leg belongs to Jennifer Londono, a New Jersey woman who was murdered after being seen last on June 25 in Union City. This could mark the latest in a series of developments in the investigation into her death.

Londono’s boyfriend, Raphael Lolos, was accused of her killing and authorities said he dismembered her body and threw it into the river. On June 27, just two days after she had disappeared, part of Londono’s torso surfaced in Red Hook Channel and was identified by her tattoo.

Her boyfriend came under suspicion when investigators realized he was constantly using her credit cards after the time of her death.

Lolos remains in a New Jersey prison as his next court appearance approaches.
