SEPTA employees square off at annual rodeo

A team of SEPTA employees who won the 2017 SEPTA Rail Rodeo on Saturday, Oct. 14 will now be headed to the 2018 International American Public Transit Association (APTA) Rail Rodeo Competition in Denver, Colorado.

SEPTA rail operators, conductors and engineers tested their skills as they competed for bragging rights and top prizes at the Authority’s Annual Rail Rodeo Event.

The annual event took place at the Authority’s Fern Rock Maintenance Facility on Saturday, Oct. 14. The top SEPTA operating and mechanical teams took home prizes after competing in a variety of contests involving transit equipment, for example, stopping a trolley cars as close as possible to a barrel without touching it.
