Halifax Regional Police are conducting two strange investigations: One into gunshots fired in a Dartmouth neighbourhood, and the other into an assault with a heavy piece of cookware.
On Monday night, police got a tip that there had been shots fired in a Pinecrest Drive neighbourhood in Dartmouth — but the tipster hadn’t heard them.
When they got there, they found shell casings, but no victim, and no sign of what had been fired upon.
At 10 p.m. Monday, police went to a rooming house on Portland Street after one man hit another one with either a casserole dish or a large frying pan.
The two men knew each other; the victim went to hospital with a serious, but non-life-threatening head injury.
Police are looking for the assailant – and his cookware.
