Bluenosers Andrew Gordon and Andrew Joudrey are on the verge of winning another Calder Cup.

Gordon, from Porters Lake, and Joudrey, from Bedford, have helped the Hershey Bears to a 3-2 series lead over the Texas Stars in the best-of-seven American Hockey League final with Game 6 set for tonight at 8 p.m. in Pennsylvania.

The Bears, who trailed 2-0 early in the series, have won the past three games on the road and host the final two contests on home ice.

Gordon, a 24-year-old forward in the final year of a three-year entry-level NHL contract with the Washington Capitals, was a second-team AHL all-star this season and has 13 goals among 19 points in 16 games.

Joudrey, a 25-year-old forward who is signed to an AHL deal with the Bears, has a goal and two assists in 20 games.

The duo captured the Calder Cup with the Bears last year with a win over Manitoba Moose in the AHL final.

Ex-Truro Bearcats junior A goaltender Matt Climie is in net for the Stars.

The Bears are vying for their third title in five years and AHL-record 11th overall.
