Singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb seeks the right guy on #1 Single, which debuts tonight on Life Network.

Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb hasn’t given up on her hunt to have it all — love, success, career and family.

Single for the first time in 12 years, Loeb, who will be starring in her own reality series called #1 Single, says the dating world is a hectic place to re-enter, but the most important thing to keep in mind is to be yourself no matter what.

“Hopefully, (women will) be more willing to be themselves without worrying that they’re doing something wrong,” says Loeb, 37. “I really don’t think that it’s that there are no good men left ... it’s easy to find a date, it’s about finding the right person that you want to spend all this time with, and that’s a process.”

A big fan of reality TV, Loeb says she would never go on half of the funny and wacky reality shows she watches because it’s just not for her. But with #1 Single, Loeb says she feels she can connect to her audience on another level and share with them her life and personal experiences.

The show has already aired in the United States, “And the goal of the show seems to have worked,” says Loeb. “I get lots of feedback from lots of people … saying it’s really showed them how to go on dates and things they should or shouldn’t do, and they feel like they’re not alone.”

Loeb is on the hunt for a man with a sense of humour, sensitive (but not wimpy), adventurous, family-oriented (Jewish preferred) and must love cats.

“The kind of guy I’m looking for is the kind of guy Mark Ruffalo portrays in that movie Just Like Heaven,” says Loeb. “Somebody who’s one of the guys, may have a little bit of a dark side and be a bit melancholy, but also, I just want to find someone … cute-ish but not prince charming handsome or boring handsome.”

Helping Loeb on her search are Debbie, her younger sister, her ex-boyfriend Juan, her mom and various celebrity friends including Dr. Joy Browne of Dating For Dummies, and actress Ileanna Douglas who does feng shui on Loeb’s new apartment to optimize her romance area.

Even Queer Eye For The Straight Guy’s Jai Rodriguez lends a helping hand by allowing her to borrow his dog and use it as a guy magnet.

Catch #1 Single tonight at 10 on the Life Network.
