Lots of opportunities for families to celebrate Father’s Day

On Father’s Day, Sunday, various City of Edmonton attractions are offering events and activities that will make every father’s day.

Musician dads are invited to Jazz it Up and catch the Feature pyramids show, Songs of Spring, at the Muttart Conservatory from 1-4 p.m. A craft area will make it possible to create a last-minute Father’s Day gift. Those who bought gifts early will be able to challenge dad on the mini-golf course.

Fort Edmonton Park will grant free admission to dads accompanying their children. Not only can they travel back in time, but they can also learn wilderness survival skills that were once a part of everyday life. Interactive demonstrations and displays will bring the whole family in contact with the life of fur traders and settlers.

After the history lesson, kids can treat their dad to a meal at the Hotel Selkirk. Tickets cost $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $15 for youth. Kids under six years of age will enjoy a free meal.

While the 5:30 p.m. feast is fully booked, limited seating is still available for the 7:30 p.m. meal. Call 780-496-7227 for reservations.
