A purse of almost $60,000 will be up for grabs this weekend as Scotia Speedworld plays host to the Atlantic Cat 250.

The event features top stock tour drivers from the Maritimes and New England, with qualifying taking place on Friday night and the 250-lap race on Saturday night.

This year’s field includes Carquest Maritime Pro Stock Tour veterans Wayne Smith of Timberlea, John Flemming of Halifax and Shawn Turple of Enfield.

Drivers to watch from New England include two-time Atlantic Cat 250 winner Ben Rowe of Turner, Me. and Cassius Clark of Farmington, Me.

Qualifying goes Friday at 7 p.m., with racing beginning on Saturday at 5 p.m.

A field of 26 cars will be competing.

Getting in

Admission for Saturday’s Atlantic Cat 250 is $35 for adults and $5 for youth. A weekend pass is available for $40.
