Love films? Then it’s your time of year

Where to go, what to see.

If you’re one of thousands of Calgarians itching to catch a few great flicks at this year’s Calgary International Film Festival, then CIFF’s executive director Jacqueline Dupuis has several tips for you.

“The Film Festival schedule guide is the bible of the festival. It has everything you need to know in there and more,” Dupuis said.

Another huge tip, courtesy of Dupuis: Calgarians can sign up for the daily highlights and the best things happening that day will be sent via email, including the hot spots people will be hanging out at.

“It’s a way to let people know what is happening and where, not only film wise, but socially too, so they know where everyone will be. It’s the best of both worlds.”

Film-wise, programming director Trevor Smith said the festival is designed to allow people to check out documentaries, headliners and other features without much interference.

“If people want to watch a documentary or a special type of film, there should be something for everyone, every night,” he said.
