Attempting to draw more Calgarians to the core, the Calgary Downtown Association launched the Stylocity campaign with a fashion show on Stephen Avenue yesterday.
Stylocity is a weeklong event showcasing fashion, entertainment, lifestyle and dining in the core to encourage and remind citizens of what the downtown has to offer, marketing coordinator Caralyn Macdonald said.
“We want to get more people into the downtown core to enjoy everything it has to offer, and there is a whole range of things. There is more to the core,” she added.
Macdonald said while the association is still trying to work with the city to lower parking rates, she pointed out there are still good rates to be had.
“It just depends where you park and what time, but sometimes you can get parking as low as $2.”
Calgarians wanting to take in some of the events this week can find more information at downtowncalgary.com.
