Luxury car dealership an ‘investment’ in city

The official opening of the ultra-luxury automotive dealership Distinctive Collection has launched itself upon an economically half-asleep Calgary.

But that doesn’t worry owner of the Dilawri Group, part of the launch of the new Bentley car store. “The truth is, ultra-high net worths are still doing well, even in the midst of the recession,” said Tony Dilawri.

The newly renovated facility in the Calgary Auto Mall showcases the newest Aston Martins, Bentleys, and Spykers, and plans are underway to create a unique lounge in the already lavish showroom.

“The dealership has the three elite automotive brands under one roof, which gives our customers more choice. We’re expecting to sell at least six to nine cars a month,” he added.

Christophe Georges, COO of Bentley Motors, said the launch is more of an investment.

“When you invest, you invest for long term. We’re not just investing for the short term, we believe in the long term potential for Calgary,” he said.

Executives from Bentley, Aston Martin and Spyker have joined Dilawri to launch the grand opening with an exclusive dinner for Bentley customers, with all proceeds from the $500 a plate dinner going to Cardiac Rehab.

“Calgary’s importance to the automotive sector is growing,” adds Dilawri. “It’s a market to be taken seriously, particularly when it comes to its long-term potential.”
