Let me describe my reaction on the bus as I read this. I became filled with anger, then resentment, finally replaced by rage — so much so that I dropped the paper and refused to read one other article.
Having regained my composure, I asked two people sitting behind me what they thought about this article. I asked them whether they thought it absurd and insulting that a surgically-enhanced, artificially-dyed woman in her 50s should be seen as the saviour of a three-year-old girl in an African orphanage.
Both commuters found the article offensive and vile.
Is the Third World to be viewed as in need of salvation by a woman who likes to on occasion crawl on the floor in front of the masses?
