An Internet mail-order marijuana business has netted a Victoria-area man two years in jail.
Langford resident Kendell Arthur Berntson, who used the online handle “bcbud,” pleaded guilty to sending packets of pot to people in the U.S. and Europe, CBC News Online reports.
The sentence handed out yesterday by the Canadian court is eight years less than the sentence U.S. prosecutors want Vancouver’s Marc Emery to serve in a prison.
Emery, who is currently working on a plea deal to serve part of his sentence in Canada, is charged with mailing marijuana seeds to U.S. buyers.
