Make like a tree and leave: Where to find the fall foliage

Get out of Manhattan — just for a bit! — to do some serious leaf-peeping.

Take a boast cruise

Get a view of the fall leaves on the Hornblower on its Hudson Valley Fall Foliage Yacht Experience. The 210-foot luxury yacht includes breakfast, a lunch menu and spiked cider alongside the 360-degree views. Prices start at $159 for adults and $95 for children. Cruises are this Saturday and next, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Narrators will point out fun historical facts about New York along the way. www.hornblower.com.

Say hello to Staten Island

Learn to snap foliage during a nature photo walk Nov. 18 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Mount Loretto Unique Area. Bring a camera and hiking shoes. www.statenislandmuseum.org

Hit the Bronx

If you’d rather hop on the subway, stop by the Wave Hill public garden and cultural center in the Bronx for a walking tour. Horticultural Interpreter Charles Day will share his favorite trees at the city park. The walks begin at 2 p.m. Oct. 31 and Nov. 7. They’re free with admission: $8 for adults, $4 for students and seniors or $2 for children older than 6. www.wavehill.org

Head to Bear Mountain

It’s the last weekend to join in on Circle Line’s Bear Mountain cruise. Guests enjoy the fall foliage before being dropped off at Bear Mountain to enjoy Oktoberfest with live music, dancing, craft vendors and more. Boarding begins at 8:30 a.m, and the boat leaves at 9 a.m. It arrives back to Pier 83 at 5:30 p.m., both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets for adults are $50, seniors $41 and children $31. Tickets for Bear Mountain Cruises can be purchased at the Pier 83 box office or online at www.circleline42.com.
