Man back in jail hours after release

After walking out of prison a free man Friday morning, a 20-year-old man didn’t last a full day back in society before landing himself behind bars again.

Police responded to a fight that broke out at Vinyl Lounge at 107 Street and Jasper Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. Friday.

As police tried to identify those involved in the fight a man bolted. After they caught up with him, the man gave police a false name, then ran again. This time cops arrested him, and discovered his true identity.

Bryan Clinton Farrell, 20, had been released from Drumheller Institute that very morning, where he had been serving time for armed robbery. Farrell faces a new list of charges, including obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, and breaching release conditions.
