A 20-year-old man is facing charges of aggravated assault after Halifax Regional Police say a “consensual fight” between two people resulted in serious head injuries to a 44-year-old victim.

Police say at 10:46 p.m. on Thursday they were called to the intersection of Pine Street and Prince Albert Road in Dartmouth in regards to someone being injured. When they arrived they learned that two men known to each other got into a fight, with the 44-year-old being taken to the Dartmouth General Hospital -- and later the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax -- with life-threatening injuries.
