HALIFAX – A man has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon after someone allegedly sprayed the inside of a Halifax city bus with some kind of irritant.
Police say two men on the bus got into an argument just before 4 p.m. Wednesday and one of them sprayed a sensory irritant.
Police say nine passengers aboard the Metro Transit bus required treatment at the scene near the Dartmouth transit terminal.
The suspect fled on foot but was arrested a short time later.
Donald Joseph McNamara has also been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, mischief and nine counts of assault with a weapon.
