Police have charged a 20-year-old man with assault after a fight took place inside a Halifax bar early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to Cheers Bar and Grill on Grafton Street around 3:30 a.m., and found a 19-year-old man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, said police spokesman Brian Palmeter. Police believe he may have been attacked with a beer bottle.
The victim was transported to hospital for treatment.
The assault was the second reported by police at Cheers in the past week.
Last Thursday, police say a man pushed another man out the door of the bar, with the 22-year-old victim striking his head on the ground.
Jonathan Lawrence Briggs, 25, is charged with aggravated assault in relation to the incident.
