An Edmonton man has been charged after he allegedly terrorized an 88-year-old senior before taking her purse Wednesday.
Police say the senior was walking in an alley behind her home near 96 Avenue and 162 Street around 3 p.m. when she was allegedly knocked from behind and sent to the ground by the suspect.
The suspect snatched the woman’s purse and then ran off, police said.
The woman went into her home and gave a description of the attacker to 9-1-1 operators, police said.
Police said they were able to match the description within minutes after finding the suspect with several pieces of the woman’s property.
The woman was treated in hospital for a sore wrist and ribs.
Kevin Meetoos, 18, has been charged with robbery.
