Man charged in west-end TD Bank robbery

Police have charged a 34-year-old man following a robbery at a west-end bank Wednesday.

At 12:10 p.m., a lone male entered the TD Canada Trust in the 3600 block of Strandherd Drive, produced a note and demanded cash. Witnesses said the suspect get into a taxi and leave the scene. There were no injuries.

As a result of information received, police went to the Ottawa Bus Central Station and arrested a 34-year-old male. An undisclosed amount of money was recovered.

The suspect faces charges of robbery, breach of recognizance and two counts of breach of probation. John Allan Kennedy appeared in court Thursday.
