Man charged with pointing gun at teen, threatening dad

A Windsor Junction man has been charged with pointing a rifle at a 15-year-old boy in Fall River while threatening the teen’s dad.

At 5 p.m. Monday, a 56-year-old man knocked on the door of a Devonport Avenue home. When a teenager answered, the man pointed a rifle at him, and threatened his father.

The father wasn’t home at the time.

“He’s quite traumatized,” RCMP Cpl. Joe Taplin said of the teen.

He said the suspect and the teen’s father knew each other, and the threat wasn’t random.

“It was probably over some ongoing issue, I think it’s fair to say.”

The man then left the house and was arrested at his own home an hour and 20 minutes later.

Arthur Frank Parsons appeared briefly at Dartmouth provincial court Tuesday morning, charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
