A 45-year-old man is dead following a collision on Hunt Club Road Tuesday afternoon.

At 12:10 p.m., a car travelling eastbound on Hunt Club Bridge between Riverside Drive and Prince of Wales Drive lost control, Ottawa paramedics said. The car entered the westbound lane, where it struck a minivan in the left turn lane.

Paramedics arrived at the scene to find the occupant of the car with no vitals signs. Paramedics declared the man, who police said was 45-years-old, deceased at scene.

Paramedics also found four occupants of the minivan.

A 32-year-old woman suffered a leg fracture and chest injuries. She is in serious but stable condition in hospital.

Her three passengers were taken to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario as a precaution. Paramedics treated a four-year-old female for an injury to her pelvis and cuts and bruises. A 25-day-old female and two-year-old male were also taken to hospital for precautionary assessments.

Paramedics said all three children were properly secured in their car seats.

Ottawa police traffic collision investigators continue to examine the scene. Police are not releasing the name of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
