A former nightclub bouncer is being lauded as a hero for rescuing a rapid transit passenger who was dragged along a train platform by the leg.

Chris Knoblauch, 27, says he was on a SkyTrain platform Thursday night when two men got off a train, arguing. One lunged for the other and missed, falling and getting his leg wedged between the platform and the departing train.

“He got dragged about 70 feet and smashed his head off the pole,” Knoblauch said. “I took my jacket off and wrapped my shirt around his leg because it was broken. There was, like, blood gushing out his pant legs and stuff.” The man was taken to hospital in serious condition.
