Man faces charges in Subway restaurant robbery

A 20-year-old Ottawa man faces charges after a Subway sandwich shop was robbed Friday.

Police said Monday that at 9:40 p.m., two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the Carling Avenue restaurant and demanded money. They fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were no injuries.

Police said they arrested a man in the area a short time later.

Police charged Brian Wellington with one count of robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

They have identified a second suspect in the robbery and the investigation continues concerning his involvement.
