Man facing weapon charges released on $10,000 bail

A local man facing several weapons charges went free on bail of $10,000 under strict conditions yesterday.

Alex Stuart Lindsay faces 10 charges, including weapons trafficking, after police raided his home earlier in the month and found a cache of weapons, including machine guns and assault rifles.

Lindsay was released on bail but will remain under house arrest at his family’s home. He also must undergo a mental health assessment and is not allowed to access the internet.

Lindsay’s grandfather, John W. Lindsay Sr., founded Lindsay enterprises, which has built several well known buildings such as the Purdy’s Wharf towers.

Lindsay’s lawyer, Joel Pink, said there was no ammunition found with the weapons and it was not clear whether they were operational.
