VANCOUVER - A B.C. Supreme Court jury has found a Richmond man guilty of second-degree murder in a stabbing death after a fight on a transit bus.

The jury came back with the verdict for Joshua Berner on Monday after deliberating through the long-weekend.

He will spend life in prison for the murder of 23-year-old Benjamin Warland, in February 2009.

Warland was found lying in the yard of a Richmond home after the altercation and died a short time later in hospital.

Berner is the son of Carol Berner, who was convicted of dangerous driving causing the death of four-year-old Alexa Middelaer.

The jury has now been instructed to come back with a recommendation on parole eligibility. (CKNW, The Canadian Press)
