Man hit in chest in East Vancouver shootout: Cops

A 29-year-old man was taken to hospital early yesterday morning with a gunshot wound to his chest after being found shot behind an East Vancouver apartment.

Police received reports that two people were shooting at each other in a laneway near Dundas Street and Templeton Drive at around 2 a.m.

“A man was found a short distance away (on) Triumph Street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his chest,” said Vancouver Police Const. Jana McGuinness.

She said it’s possible the altercation started inside the suite of a Dundas Street apartment and spilled out into the street.

The victim’s name and condition had not been released by deadline, but he’s expected to recover from his injuries.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call 9-1-1.
