SCHOMBERG, Ont. - Two men are dead and a third is in custody after a double homicide in Schomberg, north of Toronto, police said Tuesday.
Const. Rebecca Boyd of York Regional Police said one man was found dead at a construction business Tuesday morning, while the other died after being taken to hospital.
Both victims are believed to be in their 70s. They were found suffering from massive head injuries when police and firefighters arrived at about 10:25 a.m.
The two victims worked at James Elliott Underground Construction, police said, but their names were not released.
A third person, also identified as an employee, was taken into custody and was being questioned by police. The man had worked for the family-run business for about a year, other employees said.
Police haven't said how the injuries to the victims were inflicted. They were called to the scene after someone called 911 from the property.
