A man is in hospital after a standoff with police in the city’s southwest yesterday afternoon.
The police tactical unit was called to a house in the 4500 block of 16 Street SW for an alleged domestic abuse incident.
“Officers responded to a man who was threatening to harm himself,” Duty Insp. Keith Pollock said, adding the man was brought to hospital for mental-health reasons.
Larry, an area neighbour, said three people lived in the home and he often saw police at the house.
“Nothing this crazy with SWAT and dogs, but they are always partying at that house,” he added.
Nobody was harmed in the incident.
