A 24-year-old man is in hospital with what police say are life-threatening injuries after being found on a Maple Ridge road with serious stab wounds.
Insp. Darren Lench said it’s not clear what the victim was stabbed with, but it was likely a large blade like a sword or a machete.
“The investigation is in the beginning stages, and police are trying to learn all the details,” he said.
“Police were called to the 21100 block of Dewdney Trunk Road just before 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Members of the B.C. Ambulance Service attended, and the man was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital.”
No suspects have been arrested and it’s unclear why the victim was targeted.
