An Ottawa man involved in a serious crash earlier this month has died from his injuries.
Following an investigation, police said Tuesday they believe the male driver of a blue Jeep lost control of his vehicle and crossed the centre line sideways on Prince of Wales Drive near Crestway Drive just after 9 a.m. on January 15.
The Jeep was struck by a Ford car, which was traveling southbound on Prince of Wales.
The driver of the Jeep, a 59-year-old Ottawa man, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported by air ambulance to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 28-year-old Ottawa woman, was trapped in the car and was extracted by firefighters. She was treated for minor injuries and transported to hospital. She has since been released.
At the time of the collision, it was extremely cold and roads were very slippery.
The family has requested the name of the deceased not be released.
