An autopsy has shone no light on what caused the death of a man found in the trunk of a car in Burnaby on Saturday, said police yesterday.
“A lot was learned at the autopsy,” said Cpl. Dale Carr of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, despite the continued uncertainty as to a cause of death.
A number of samples have been sent to the lab for analysis, with results pending for investigators and the B.C. Coroners’ Service, he added.
At the request of the decedent’s family, his identity has not been released.
The death is being treated as suspicious, though police said to this point the investigation has revealed no connection between the deceased and organized crime.
