Halifax Regional Police are investigating a serious assault after a man was shot in the eye with a paintball gun last week.
Police say the incident occurred in the early morning hours last Thursday as a 48-year-old man was talking along Northwest Arm Drive near Osborne Street in Halifax. Police say as he was walking he heard a car pull up behind him and was then shot in the face with a paintball gun.
He went to hospital for treatment for a serious eye injury, one that reportedly could result in the victim losing sight in that eye. He then reported the incident to police that afternoon.
Officers have canvassed the neighbourhood for possible witnesses, and so far there is no description of the vehicle or any suspects.
