Man sought in HIV assaults believed to be in Calgary

Calgary police have confirmed that the Winnipeg Police Service has contacted them regarding a Canada-wide warrant for a 26-year-old believed to be living in Calgary.

Calgary police have confirmed that the Winnipeg Police Service has contacted them regarding a Canada-wide warrant for a 26-year-old believed to be living in Calgary.

Winnipeg police are searching for Apay Ogouk, wanted for two counts of aggravated assault, in relation to alleged sexual encounters while knowingly having HIV.

A spokesperson for the Calgary police said the Integrated Fugitive Apprehension Unit would take the lead on the Calgary file.

Late Thursday, the Calgary police duty inspector said a man wanted on two warrants for aggravated assault turned himself in.

They did not indicate if this was related to the Ogouk investigation.
