Man stabbed at house party

Police are investigating a stabbing that left a 20-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries Saturday night.
Shortly before midnight, police were called to a house party in the 6200 block of Chebucto Road following a dispute between two men.
When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to QEII Health Sciences Centre for treatment.
Sgt. Garry Smith says investigators have reason to believe the stabbing was not a random act.
“There’s certainly contact prior to (the incident). It wasn’t just someone on the street,” he said.
But Smith says so far, police have received limited co-operation from the victim.
“The investigators went to the hospital, spoke to the victim, and he didn’t provide any additional information at that point,” he said.
He says it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
The suspect is described as a six-foot-tall white man, with a medium build. At the time of the assault, he was wearing glasses.
