A man who was Tasered by the Brooks RCMP to take him into custody later died in hospital, RCMP said Thursday.
Brooks RCMP were called to a residential area Wednesday evening on the report of an individual who was observed to be injured and causing a disturbance, police said.
Responding officers located the adult male and a Conducted Energy Weapon was used to take the person into custody, RCMP confirmed.
While in custody, the man suffered medical distress, RCMP said, and he was provided immediate medical assistance.
The man was immediate taken to Brooks Hospital where he later died, RCMP said.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has been brought in to conduct an investigation.
