A serial drunk driver is staying behind bars for at least another month after making an appearance yesterday at Dartmouth Provincial Court.
Terry Naugle, a 51-year-old from the Truro region, has well over 20 convictions for drunk driving offences, and is back before the court facing new charges of impaired driving, refusing a breathalyzer, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving while disqualified.
He was arrested on March 28 in connection with a hit-and-run accident on Highway 102 near Enfield.
Naugle was in court for a show cause hearing yesterday, but that was put over until May 13 as he seeks permanent counsel. He was remanded back to the Burnside jail.
